Terms and Conditions of use for the Gym

This document specifies the terms and conditions of the Elite Fitness Redditch membership. The Member is advised to read the whole of this agreement carefully. This agreement is made between Elite Fitness Redditch and you (The Member).

You, Your Health and Your Safety

1.1 The Member chooses whether Elite Fitness Redditch can assess his/her health and fitness level and prepare an exercise programme designed with the intention to improve his/her fitness level. The Member accepts and fully understands the following:
1.1.1 That if the member decides to opt out of the induction, a disclaimer must be agreed.
1.1.2 That as the member has agreed the disclaimer; Elite Fitness Redditch cannot accept responsibility for any injury sustained as a consequence of misuse of equipment or effects of a member’s health.
1.1.3 That the Member enters an exercise programme and uses any equipment entirely at his/her own risk.
1.1.4 That any exercise programme is designed to place an increasing workload on the body’s heart and lungs. The exercise programme cannot be predicted with complete accuracy and there is risk that the applicant may experience abnormalities in blood pressure and heart rate before, during or after exercise.
1.1.5 That the members who choose to have a fitness induction, a specific exercise programme will be given in response to the information provided on the Health and Fitness Questionnaire.
1.1.6 That all exercise programmes will include a warmup, a specifically designed exercise programme and a cool down.
1.2 The member hereby authorises Elite Fitness Redditch to obtain any additional information which it may require from his/her General Practitioner (GP) or ask the member to produce this.
1.3 An Elite Fitness Redditch fitness instructor must be consulted before using any new piece of fitness equipment. Elite Fitness Redditch cannot accept responsibility for any injury sustained because of any item of equipment being used upon which the member has not received instruction.
1.4 The member will be responsible for monitoring his/her own physical condition throughout any exercise programme. In the event of any unusual symptoms occurring, the member should inform an Elite Fitness Redditch member of staff immediately or raise the alarm.
1.5 The member who chooses to have an induction declares that to the best of his/her knowledge, the information provided in the health & fitness questionnaire is complete and accurate. The member therefore knows no reason why he/she should not take part in the exercise programme prescribed.
1.6 If the member chooses to deviate from any prescribed exercise programme in any way, he/she does so at their own risk.


2 Access to the club

2.1 Admission will not be granted unless a valid membership card is presented clearly to the receptionist or validated by the computer system at the entry each time you use the facility.
2.2 When you join our Centre, we will need to take your photograph for health & safety and security reasons. Membership cards will not be valid until the member has their photograph taken and their card issued by a Customer Service Advisor.
2.3 In the event of losing your membership card, please contact Elite Fitness Redditch as soon as possible. A replacement card will be issued, and a small administration charge will be made.
2.4 Your membership card is non-transferable. You must not allow anyone else to use your card or membership number. Cards being used by any other person other than the authorised Member will result in that membership being cancelled and no refund of the registration fee or subscriptions made.
2.5 Admission is subject to the facility operating at a safe capacity. The decision of the Centre Manger or their nominated person is final.
2.6 Centre programming is subject to change and availability from time to time.
2.7 Membership products and prices may be subject to change at the discretion of Elite Fitness Redditch.


3 Your behaviour

3.1 Members are required to change into training clothing. Tops or vests must be worn.
3.2 Members are always asked to respect personal hygiene within the Centre and to wipe clean equipment after use.
3.3 Free weights are always to remain on the matted area and be returned to the racks after use. Weights used on the plate loaded machines should be returned to the racks after use and not left on the machines. Additional weights being loaded onto the resistance machines are prohibited.
3.4 If any equipment is found to be faulty or malfunctioning, please report this to a staff member immediately.
3.5 Non-members, guests, or friends must be referred to the customer service advisor on arrival. No spectators are allowed into activity areas.
3.6 Smoking is not permitted inside the gym.
3.7 No pets are allowed into the facilities except for Guide Dogs.
3.8 Other than small pieces of equipment for example bands, wrist straps etc no training equipment is to be bought into the gym without the authorisation of the Centre Manger or their nominated person.
3.9 We do not tolerate any form of harassment or abuse towards our members, guests, or staff. All Members and Guests must conduct themselves in a respectful manner whilst using our Centre. Any Centre user who acts in an intimidating, abusive, violent, or disrespectful manner will be ejected from the Centre, and Members may have their Membership terminated with no refund of fees already paid.
3.10 In accordance with the 2010 equality act, any conduct or speech that might be considered racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory will not be tolerated. If you experience or witness any form of discrimination or abuse, please report it to a member of the team or to our member Services Team on info@elitefitnessredditch.co.uk


4 Your personal items and valuables & use of lockers

4.1 Lockers should always be used for the storage of personal items. Elite Fitness is not liable for the loss or theft of any personal belongings.
4.2 We are not able to look after anything for you behind reception.
4.3 We want to make sure we have as many lockers available for our members as possible; therefore, please can we ask that you do not leave items overnight. For security reasons and for the benefit of all members All lockers will be checked and emptied at the end of each day, any items found will be moved to the lost property stand.

5 Use of smartphones, video recorders and cameras

5.1 If you are using a smartphone, tablet, or other device in the club or as part of your workout it is your responsibility to keep it safe and secure, we encourage you to keep it on you rather than on the equipment.
5.2 Please be respectful of other peoples’ privacy when using personal technology in the club. You must get prior permission from all the people who will appear in any photograph you take or video footage you make whilst in club. Retrospective consent should also be obtained where images are accidentally captured, and the image/footage deleted where consent is withheld. If you intend to use an image, then you must explain what it will be used for and who might see it and get the persons consent to do so.
5.3 We are aware that filming and photography takes place in our Centre from time to time so if you do not wish your image to be used in any filming or photography by Elite Fitness, please inform a member of the team.
5.4 We do allow you filming videos of your workouts for your personal use. If the recordings or photography are at a level where a photographer or videography has been hired and it will cause disruption within the gym environment, for instance using lighting rigs etc, this under no circumstances is allowed in the normal opening hours without the authorisation of the Centre Manger. The Centre can be hired out exclusively for this purpose.

6 Personal Training

6.1 Only Elite Fitness self-employed licensed personal trainers are permitted to undertake personal training sessions in the Centre.
6.2 No member may bring external personal trainers to the Centre or act as a personal trainer, paid or otherwise. Elite Fitness Personal Trainers have been confirmed as holding the required certification and insurance, and as such are the only trainers permitted to work in the Centre.

7 Operating hours and necessary maintenance

7.1 Please respect the closing time which is available on the main entrance and on our webpage and be ready to leave on time.
7.2 If we need to change the Centres opening hours for any reason, we will always aim to give you as much notice as possible.
7.3 To ensure Elite Fitness is fit for use, we might need to close certain areas from time to time, we will always aim to let you know in advance so that you can plan accordingly.

8 Standing orders

8.1 If you pay by standing order and you wish to cancel your membership and payment, it is your responsibility to cancel the standing order with your bank (Elite Fitness does not have the authority to amend or cancel a standing order) No refunds will be issued in the event of a non-cancelled standing order.

9 Use of your Personal Information

9.1 We comply with the Data Protection Act 2018. Please see our Privacy Notice for information about how we use the information you share with us.


The Management reserve the right to reject any application or withdraw without refund any membership in the event of failure to comply with Membership Conditions and Centre Regulations. Elite Fitness Redditch shall not be liable for any loss, damage of theft of personal property belonging to the member, (or any guest of the member) occurring upon the premises, except to the extent that such loss, damage or theft of personal property arises from any negligent act of Elite Fitness Redditch. Elite Fitness Redditch Leisure Centres shall not be responsible for the death or injury of the member, (or any guest of the Member) occurring upon the premises or as a result of the use of the facilities and/or equipment provided in the premises, except to the extent that such death or personal injury arises from any negligent act or omission of Elite Fitness Redditch. For the purpose of this clause Elite Fitness Redditch includes Leisure Centres or any premises operated by it, Health and Fitness specialist instructors or other employees, or agents (including any independent contractors from time to time employed by it)
